Positive Attitude
Behavioral psychologists have been conducting many studies on attitudes and they found that our attitude affects our lives. Psychologists who study behaviors are called behavioral psychologists. They focus on and work on the modification of behaviors, actions, thoughts, and feelings of people. They found that our attitude whether it is positive or negative it plays an important role in our daily life and especially when we have to deal with challenges.
A positive attitude plays a vital role in our health it has some mind-blowing impact on our immunity.
Adopting a positive attitude is easier when a person has generally good life circumstances and few problems in life. But maintaining a positive attitude is challenging when these circumstances are not working in favor and you have to deal with negative situations because your life is changing drastically. It is not easy to have a positive attitude, particularly when you have challenges concerning your health.
When someone is dealing with a chronic disease like cancer, heart disease or other chronic ailments there is no doubt that the person can feel low and have many negative thoughts regarding his health. A research done on chronic Care Patients suggested that a positive mindset could play an important role in how a person handles chronic care treatment.
A positive attitude is imperative but it is very essential to say that you don’t have to be positive all the time. You can give yourself a break and can feel whatever you are feeling. Indeed, letting yourself express grief with a loved one is just as essential as staying positive. Honor yourself by expressing your emotions no matter positive or negative. In fact when next time someone asks you to stay positive and beat disease like cancer or Cardiovascular Diseases and you want to kick that person. You can simply tell them that there is no evidence that positive attitudes help cancer patients or heart patients live longer.
But let’s face it in a better way. Finding a glass half full simply brings happy feelings. A person diagnosed with chronic disease deserves as much happiness as possible. There are few ways that will help you to look at the glass half full when you are only considering it half empty.

1. Morning Ritual
Many people start their day by dragging themselves from bed and it sets a negative mindset for the rest of the day. People with positive minds start their day strong. They have their morning rituals which show that how happy they are to be alive. They start their day with gratitude even though they have many challenges but their focus the glass half full of water.
2. A Natural drug “Exercise”
Releases all the chemicals having positive characteristics into the bloodstream which help you uphold a positive attitude. When you start your day with some physical activity which is good both for physical and mental health, it gives you good vibes. Exercise decreases depression and stress and increases positive feelings.
3. Positive Self-talk
There is a saying that says we are what we eat. It is true in a sense that when we eat unhealthy food it shows on our physical appearance. The same goes for our mental health, what we feed to our mind is what our mental health is. Positive self-talk is important in everyday life but it’s very crucial when a person is dealing with a chronic disease like cancer. Positive self-talk can help you uplift your spirit. Keeping a positive mindset is difficult when you are struggling with chronic ailments but it helps you. Write some positive mantras like “I can deal with this, I can and I will” for yourself and repeat them daily.
4. Stay away from Negative People
Others sometimes speak without thinking and they don’t understand your physical limitation. Sometimes it is needed to ignore what others say. A foremost example would be a remark such as “are not you scared of dying?” or are you sure you will be able to deal with it?” their insensitive questions may wound you deeply and nosh your fears. A person can control his reaction easily than holding tongues of others. So it is necessary to remove yourself from the negativity that is weighing you down. You can cut them off and try to avoid conversation because it is okay to set up a healthy boundary for your mental and physical health.
5. Get Proper Rest
Try to avoid physical exhaustion because you are more vulnerable to negative things when you are physically exhausted. Being tired can harm your moods which can lead to a negative attitude. Make sure that you are getting proper sleep and rest.
6. Conquer your fears
Try to face your fears. Fears are negative and it can be incapacitating. It is important to face them when you are facing a health challenge like cancer or heart problem.
7. Positive Environment
Your company matters a lot. You are what surround yourself with. It is believed that when you hang around with five positive people you adapt to their lifestyles and their habits. If you want to be fit and healthy be a friend with fit people. If you want to have a positive attitude, make sure that you are hanging around with positive persons.
8. Garbage in, Garbage out what you give you receive
There is a rule in programming where the results are just like the input is. If you are feeding your mind with negativity the entire day, then it is pretty understandable you are going to be feeling negative as well.
When you focus on the positive side rather than the negative chances are your attitude will be happier and clearer. It is essential to have encouraging thoughts.
Cancer and cardiovascular are diseases full of challenges. It does not just destroy your physical but emotional health. But when you don’t give up and fight it like a warrior you can defeat it. You don’t have to let it win. Let’s do your best and speak positively to yourself and let those words speak life into your life. Four little words can make the difference, “I think I can” repeat them to yourself daily.
